Although the proportion of misshapen nuclei in ADLD fibroblasts is increased, we did not observe any gross abnormalities of nuclear architecture based on the localization of nuclear proteins, including sc-35, fibrillarin, histone H3, LAP2β and nucleoporins, or chromatin, as detected by Hoechst 33342 DNA staining and electron microscopy. This evidence concerns the gene FBL and adult-onset autosomal dominant demyelinating leukodystrophy.
