VEGFA and retinal detachment: While the introduction of treatment with anti-VEGF intravitreal injections or steroids has been showing some superiority over the treatment carried out only by laser photocoagulation, this indication remains the principle in certain circumstances, and we must not forget the risks relating to the intravitreal injection drugs, such as endophthalmitis or retinal detachment, which, though mentioned in a relatively small percentage of publications, are serious complications following any treatments.
