Particularly, IL-6, IL-8, IL-10, and IL-23 concentrations in pancreatic cancer patients seem to be associated with the number of circulating MSCs, whereas lower IL-23 levels negatively correlated with increased numbers of VSELs detected in the peripheral blood of patients diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL8 and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
