TNF and diabetes mellitus: Some studies in patients with diabetes have shown that serum inflammation markers, such as high-sensitivity C reactive protein (hs-CRP), interleukin-6 (IL-6), interleukin-10 (IL-10) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), and oxidative stress markers, such as urinary 8-hydoroxydeoxyguanosine (u-8-OHdG) and 8-iso-prostaglandin F (2α) (u-8-isoPGF2α), were associated clearly with future coronary events [1-5].
