As γδT cells secrete and are key sources of IL–17 and IFN–γ in the blood and IL–17 in the brain [4], [8], [37], the decrease in the number of circulating γδT cells in our study may be due to their active role in the evolution of hypertension and possible mobilization into vascular walls or their removal from the circulation.
