Plin2 deficiency improves hepatic steatosis and insulin sensitivity in a diet-induced obesity model of hepatic steatosis [22], [28] and is increased in hepatic LDs in response to high fat refeeding [18], but to our knowledge, this is the first study that has examined the role of Plin2 in the pathogenesis of ALD in vivo. The gene discussed is INS; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
