Plin2 deficiency improves hepatic steatosis and insulin sensitivity in a diet-induced obesity model of hepatic steatosis [22], [28] and is increased in hepatic LDs in response to high fat refeeding [18], but to our knowledge, this is the first study that has examined the role of Plin2 in the pathogenesis of ALD in vivo. Here, PLIN2 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
