Comparisons of allele and genotype frequencies between pooled MS patients and controls (Serbian, BH, Croatian, and Slovenian, Table 2) did not reveal significant associations, but we found a trend towards a decreased risk of MS in patients with the TPA DD genotype (OR = 0.80, 95% CI 0.65–1.00, P = 0.050) and an increased risk of MS in patients with the PAI-1 5G5G genotype (OR = 1.27, 95% CI 0.97–1.61, P = 0.054). This evidence concerns the gene PLAT and myeloid sarcoma.
