Among the specific EDN1 signaling inhibitors tested (PB98059, H89 and Gö6983), the MEK inhibitor, PD98059, significantly suppressed the EDN1-stimulated phosphorylation of ERK and of MITF at 5–30 min post-treatment in EDN1-treated ALM melanoma cells, whereas it only slightly reduced the phosphorylation of CREB [39]. This evidence concerns the gene CREB1 and melanoma.
