CEACAM5 and neoplasm: In the analyses of baseline patient characteristics, two of three factors included in the Cox proportional hazards model had statistically significant effects on PFS: reduction in tumour size at the end of induction therapy (>median versus ≤ median; HR 1.015 [95 % CI 1.002–1.029; P = 0.0238]) and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) concentration at the end of induction therapy (<upper limit of normal [ULN] versus ≥ ULN; HR 0.326 [95 % CI 0.159–0.668; P = 0.0022]).
