As quite a few studies have shown that multiple single nucleotide polymorphisms in the CRP gene (or the promoter region of the CRP gene [62, 63]) are associated with an increase in CRP baseline levels [64–66], it was just a matter of time for large genetic studies to follow estimating the association of elevated CRP levels and an increased risk for CHD [10, 67–69]. The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is coronary artery disorder.
