Microscopic analysis revealed that all tumors in wt mice were adenomas with high grades of dysplasia (Fig. 2C, E and G), while in Cripto+/− mice we found adenocarcinoma (14%, Fig. 2H) in addition to adenomas with high grades of dysplasia (81%, Fig. 2D and F) and gastrointestinal intraepithelial neoplasia (GIN, 5%). The gene discussed is CRIPTO; the disease is adenoma.
