APOA1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: Complicated T2DM patients were characterized to be prevalently males (62.3%), to have an older age (67.58 versus 64.03 in noncomplicated cases), and to show higher values of biochemical variables, such as fasting glucose, creatinine, urea, HbA1c, total and LDL cholesterol, and Apo-A1 (Table 1).
