Despite these limitations, our study represents the first to have analyzed the weight of the TLR4 SNPs in of +896 TLR4 A/G polymorphism as potential predisposing or protective genetic risk factor in the major T2DM complications (neuropathy, nephropathy, chronic kidney failure, chronic arterial disease of the lower limbs, carotid arterial diseases, and ischemic heart diseases) in the Caucasian populations. Here, TLR4 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
