Almost three-quarters (73%) of fetal growth restriction requiring delivery prior to 37/40 was identified in a study (n = 32850) using a first trimester screening algorithm incorporating maternal factors and numerous biomarkers, including fetal nuchal translucency (NT) thickness, serum pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A), free beta-human chorionic gonadotrophin (beta-hCG), mean arterial pressure (MAP), uterine artery pulsatility index (PI), placental growth factor (PlGF), placental protein 13 (PP13), and A disintegrin and metalloprotease (ADAM12) [14]. Here, PGF is linked to fetal growth restriction.
