Although, Pearce et al. (2003) had examined 353 patients with various thyroid conditions (AIT, subacute thyroiditis, toxic diffuse goiter, nodular goiter, HT, acute hypothyroidism, and postpartum thyroiditis), there are no reported studies on the assessment of Hs-CRP changes in thyroid dysfunction, except for a few that demonstrated elevated CRP in hypothyroidism (Pearce et al. 2003; Tanda et al. 2008). The gene discussed is CRP; the disease is nodular goiter.
