Hence, we compared the anti-tau antibody immunoreactivity profile in 4 mouse models: non-transgenic wild-type mice (WT) expressing endogenous murine tau with low levels of tau phosphorylation, tau knock-out (TKO; [8]) mice invalidated for their murine tau gene as a negative control for the detection of non-specific signal, 3xTg-AD mice [9] that express human mutated tau protein (P301L) as well as human mutated amyloid precursor protein (APPswe) on human mutated presenilin 1 (PS1) background.
