In helminthiasis, specific IgE responses are associated with immunity to infection [15–18]; however, this immunity is only partial and appears finely balanced between the IgE-effector mechanisms of IgE and IgG4 down-regulatory effects [16, 18–21], which is able to block IgE antigen binding and suppress IgE-effector cells by engaging FcγRIIB [22]. The gene discussed is IGHE; the disease is helminthiasis.
