Interestingly, recent experimental data suggest that inhibition of IP-10 could prevent T1D, while blockade of CXCR3 is not sufficient to stop T1D development, suggesting a more complex and still unclarified role of both IP-10 and CXCR3 T cell subset in the pathogenesis of the disease [43].
