The largest study of MRFIT demonstrated the association of the Apo E4 allele not only with the increased risk of coronary atherosclerosis, but also with mortality [34,42].The frequency of alleles (E2, E3, E4) of the Apo E gene in individuals of different ethnic origins is not the same [35,36]. The gene discussed is AOPEP; the disease is coronary atherosclerosis.
