At present, the application of immunohistochemistry is considered to be the most effective and economical method of detection, as the positive results for CD20, CD10 and Bcl-6, and the negative result for Blc-2, together with the high Ki-67 proliferation index (usually >95%), are able to determine a definitive diagnosis for the majority of BL cases. This evidence concerns the gene BCL6 and Burkitt lymphoma.
