Further studies have shown that elevated AEG-1 expression is detected in subsets of malignant tumors, including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (8), hepatocellular carcinoma (9), non-small cell lung cancer (10), neuroblastoma (11), breast cancer (12), prostate cancer (13), and renal cancer (14), compared with normal cells and matched non-neoplastic tissues.
