A similar genetic vaccine targeting MUC1 (TG4010) has been shown to enhance the effects of chemotherapy in a Phase IIb clinical trial of patients with advanced non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC) and this vaccine is now in a Phase IIb/III clinical trial evaluating first-line safety and clinical efficacy in prolonging survival[6]. The gene discussed is MUC1; the disease is non-small cell lung carcinoma.
