This is an unlikely mechanism in the case of miR-125b since the screening for the effect of miR-125b overexpression on Akt, Stat, mTOR did not show any changes in the expression level in MM cell lines and E2F2 and E2F3 proteins are not expressed in Mel-Juso cells (data not shown). Here, E2F3 is linked to Miyoshi myopathy.
