Survival rates after cervical cancer were statistically significantly lower in patients with CD4+ T-cell count less than 200 cell/mm3 at cancer diagnosis, although in our cohort the proportion of patients with CD4 counts above 200 cell/mm3 at cervical cancer diagnosis was higher compared with patients with other AIDS-related malignancies (p = 0.005). The gene discussed is CD4; the disease is cervical carcinoma.
