Given that the expression of α-adducin, SIK2 and the markers of CH are positively correlated in human hearts and that in MHS-pre hearts the presence of the hypertensive variant of α-adducin is associated with increased levels of SIK2 and CH markers, we speculate that the presence of α-adducin (hypertensive variant) could, by activating SIK2, sensitize to and trigger the molecular mechanism leading to CH. This evidence concerns the gene SIK2 and cyclic hematopoiesis.
