The minor allele −221X in the promoter region was observed significantly higher in the control individuals compared to relatives (OR = 0.6, 95%CI = 0.4–0.99, P = 0.047) whereas the minor allele MBL2*B (codon 54 rs1800450A) in exon 1 was observed more frequently in RA patients compared to controls (OR = 1.28, 95%CI = 1.04–1.6, P = 0.018) suggesting an increased susceptibility to RA.
