The case group had a higher prevalence of diabetes (37.8% vs. 9.5%, p<0.001), prevalence of diabetes treatment (insulin) (17.8% vs. 2.4%, p<0.001), prevalence of alcohol abuse (33.3% vs. 13.5%, p = 0.001), and proportion of patients with a BMI≥28 kg/m2 (57.8% vs. 36.1%, p<0.001).
