MCM7 and gastric cancer: In contrast, only three transcripts of pro-proliferative genes were found to be over-represented: CKS2, essential for cell cycle progression and associated with proliferation in gastric cancer [59]; CDK7, which functions as a CDK-activating kinase (CAK) and has also been identified as an essential component of the transcription factor TFIIH, which is involved in transcription initiation and DNA repair [60], [61], [62]; and MCM7, critical for cell proliferation and maintaining genome stability [63].
