TNF and Hypertension: As IL‐10 level is decreased in hypertensive conditions as mentioned earlier, this may be primarily involved in the increased production of TNF‐α in many models of experimental hypertension such as ANG II‐dependent hypertensive rats (Ferreri et al. 1997, 1998; Niedbala et al. 2006) and Dahl salt‐sensitive rats (Gu et al. 2006; Elmarakby et al. 2008).
