MKI67 and tuberculosis: No differences in expression of these molecules were found on cytomegalovirus (CMV) pp65-specific CD4 T cells within the same individuals (Figure 3F), thus suggesting the phenotypically distinct subsets of antigen-specific CD4 T cells expressing these combinations of Bcl-2, Ki67, and CD95 are unique to CFP-10/ESAT-6-specific CD4 T cells in TB patients, and not indicative of generalized immune activation and inflammation in the setting of active disease.
