Results of our analysis of the SCC proteome suggest that among the 81 proteins identified, serum amyloid P-component (SAP), apolipoprotein A1(apoA1), hemoglobin subunit beta (HBB), fructose-bisphosphate aldolase A (ALDOA), ferritin light (FTL), and huntingtin-interacting protein 1 (HIP1) are secretory proteins which can be easily detected in blood serum and may serve as biomarkers when screening for lung cancers. The gene discussed is HBB; the disease is lung cancer.
