In addition, silencing of the other six genes did not significantly affect the growth of MCF-7 and T47D cells in the presence or absence of estrogen (Figure S6 in Additional file 1), suggesting that the regulation of AGPAT5, ERLIN1, HSPA8, MREG, NARG1 or PLOD2 by miR-26a and miR-26b may be used for other cellular functions in breast cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene AGPAT5 and breast carcinoma.
