A dramatic induction of the expression of the four genes was observed in WT leaves, ranging from 200-fold in the case of PR-1 or 1000 to 2000-fold in the case of PR-2, PR-5 or CYP79F1. In turn, the expression levels of those genes in uninfected leaves of SAMDC-1 transgenic plants were higher than in uninfected WT plants (Figure 4D) and similar to the levels reached in them after infection (Figure 4D). The gene discussed is TMEM37; the disease is infection.
