In this 2.0-year follow-up study, our aims were to examine 1) whether serum vaspin levels are associated with adiposity and insulin-resistance; 2) whether non-diabetic subjects with lower serum vaspin levels are more susceptible to developing T2DM; 3) whether lower vaspin levels are concomitant with poorer glycemic control in T2DM. Here, SERPINA12 is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
