The serum IL-8 in distinguished survived from non-survived patients in sepsis from SIRS patients at a cut-off value of 420 pg/mL and demonstrated a sensitivity of 77.3%, specificity of 96.2%, and accuracy level of 0.891 with a positive predictive value of 89.5 and negative predictive value of 91.1 (Figure 2).
