Bahnassy et al. detected cyclin D1 gene amplification in 50 colorectal cancer cases and found cyclin D1 gene amplification was significantly associated with an advanced disease stage since amplification was detected in 10/15 (66.7%) of stage IV tumors compared to 12/45 (26.7%) of stageI–III tumors. This evidence concerns the gene CCND1 and colorectal cancer.
