Among the investigated genes, an especially high inter-correlation of expression values was observed within subgroups encoding proteins with similar function or those serving as markers for tumor-infiltrating immune cells: subgroup a, antiviral proteins IFIT1, IFITM1, MX1; subgroup b, chemokines CXCL9, CXCL10, CXCL10; subgroup c, immune cell markers IFN-γ, CD45, FOXP3, subgroup d, macrophage marker proteins CD68, CD163; and subgroup e, immunosuppression-related proteins FOXP3, PD-L1, PD-L2. This evidence concerns the gene CD163 and neoplasm.
