In the 45 cases, MUC5AC and/or MUC16 expression was a significant independent high hazard risk after adjustment for the effect of venous invasion as a covariate (Model 1 in Table 2, HR: 5.6, 95% CI: 1.8–17), but not for the effect of lymph node metastasis as a covariate (Model 2 in Table 2, HR: 2.7, 95% CI: 0.9–8.8) (Table 2). Here, MUC16 is linked to metastatic malignant neoplasm in the lymph nodes.
