Given that MIR34A and MIR34B/C locate to regions of allelic loss in DLBCL (1p36.23 and 11q23.1, respectively) [4, 25, 26], and the importance of the miR34 targets in DLBCL pathogenesis, we also investigated a large panel of newly diagnosed cases of DLBCLs for MIR34A and MIR34B/C promoter methylation, TP53 mutational status, clinical presentation patterns, and outcome. The gene discussed is MIR34A; the disease is diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
