FOXP3 and inflammatory bowel disease: We first assessed the microbiota reactivity of DP8α LPL lines using four bacteria strains: F. prausnitzii (F), a major human gut bacterium of the Clostridium IV group, that is present at a decreased level in the faeces of patients with IBD and was shown to induce IL-10 expression by peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMC) [2],[25], Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron (B), and Lactobacillus casei (L), which may promote Foxp3 Treg differentiation/expansion in mice [1], and Escherichia coli (E), a potential pathobiont.
