APOB and metabolic syndrome: This dyslipidemia is characterised by a spectrum of qualitative lipid abnormalities reflecting perturbations in the structure, metabolism, and biological activities of both atherogenic lipoproteins and antiatherogenic HDL-C which includes an elevation of lipoproteins containing apolipoprotein B (apoB), elevated TGs, increased levels of small particles of LDL, and low levels of HDL-C.
