BCL2L1 and cancer: Bcl-X(L) has been directly linked to resistance to conventional forms of therapies and poor prognosis [10] .The functional inhibition of Bcl-X(L) restores the apoptotic process and renders neoplastic cells sensitive to chemical and radiation therapies, whereas manipulation of cancer cell lines to express high levels of Bcl-X(L) results in a multi-drug resistance phenotype.
