This result revealed that the serum CCSA-2 may be used as a prognostic marker for colorectal cancer, just like the Her-2 gene amplification used as a hazard prognostic marker for breast cancer, the higher serum CCSA-2 expression may indicate a worse prognosis and a higher risk of recurrences after surgery for CRC patients. This evidence concerns the gene ERBB2 and colorectal cancer.
