The genes include BCAS1, EDN3, FABP4, MATN2, SDCBP2, SPTLC3, TRPA1 and WFDC2. This paradox of a negative relationship between copy number status and gene expression has also been observed in a previous study on CRC [56] and might be attributed to the multiple mechanisms that are responsible for normal and abnormal control of gene expression, including those related to mutation, promoter methylation and miRNA expression [57]. The gene discussed is MATN2; the disease is colorectal carcinoma.
