The AG and GG genotypes of the rs689466 polymorphism in COX-2 gene were overrepresented in the group of cases leading to an increased risk for CRC more noticeable for homozygous GG although this was not statistically significant in the multivariate analysis (OR = 2.01; 95%CI:0.93–4.35, P = 0.076). This evidence concerns the gene PTGS2 and colorectal carcinoma.
