Several parameters (i.e. C-reactive protein (CRP), white blood cell count, lymphocyte/leukocyte rate, interleukin-6, interleukin-10, interleukin-4, interleukin-5, interleukin-12, tumor necrosis factor alpha, endotoxin, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, procalcitonin, fibrinogen, alpha 2 - macroglobulin, alpha 1-antitrypsin, D-Lactate) for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis have been investigated in the literature (2). Here, CRP is linked to appendicitis.
