In prostate tissue specimens derived from 109 PCa stage T2 and T3 patients, immunohistochemical analysis revealed low expression of NWD1 in normal prostatic epithelium (n=39), which markedly increased in glandular hyperplasia (GH; n=28) (p=0.006), benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH; n=40) (p<0.0001), atrophy (A; n=53) (p<0.0001), and prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN; n=48) (p<0.0001). The gene discussed is NWD1; the disease is prostate intraepithelial neoplasia.
