It was notable that of the 11 SNPs included in the meta-analysis, 5 were in LD (r2 > 0.2) with an SNP that has also robustly been associated with different diseases and traits in other GWASs: in or near WNT4 with bone mineral density; in CDKN2B-AS1 with glaucoma, glioma, ankle-brachial index, intracranial aneurysm, coronary artery calcification and coronary heart disease; in VEZT with adverse response to chemotherapy and in 7p15.2 with fat distribution. Here, WNT4 is linked to coronary artery disorder.
