AKT2 inhibition abrogates gemcitabine-induced activation of AKT2 and NF-κB, and enhances gemcitabine-induced PUMA (p53-upregulated modulator of apoptosis) upregulation, resulting in chemosensitization of pancreatic cancers to gemcitabine [22].
