When ratios of the sum of MMP-2 and MMP-3 over the sum of TIMP-1 and TIMP-2 were calculated, they were higher in PACG (0.83 ± 0.80) and POAG (0.82 ± 0.53) compared to controls (0.70 ± 0.63). This evidence concerns the gene MMP2 and open-angle glaucoma.
