NTRK1 and neuroblastoma: NTRK1––encoding a receptor for NGF––is a particularly likely candidate for an oncogenic driver gene of GBM, because it positively regulates cell survival through the MAPK cascade [13], and is commonly altered in many types of human cancers, including neuroblastoma [14] and prostate [15], colon [16], thyroid [17], and lung [18] cancer.
